Should a commercial pest control company give me visit records?
Yes. New York already requires commercial applicators to log each application, so a copy for your file should be standard.
Check the applicator's NYS DEC certification, ask whether you get a written record after every visit, and ask how they schedule around your business hours.
Commercial pesticide application in New York is done by certified applicators, and certification can be verified with the NYS DEC. Ask for the certification number and check it yourself.
Environmental Conservation Law 33-1205 already requires commercial applicators to keep detailed records of each application, including the product, EPA registration number, quantity, date and address. Since the company has to write it down anyway, there is no good reason it cannot give you a copy. A company that cannot hand you visit records is a red flag.
Ask how visits fit around your hours, whether treatments come with a written guarantee, and whether you will see the same technician each time. A named technician who knows your building catches changes that a rotating crew misses.
For what it is worth, Bobby Bugs provides all of the above.
