Commercial Pest Control on Long Island

Bobby Bugs runs recurring pest programs for restaurants, apartment complexes, food retail and offices across Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and the Bronx, on weekly, every other week or monthly schedules, with a written record of every visit.

A business does not need a one time spray. It needs a commercial pest control company that shows up on a schedule, works around its hours and leaves a paper trail. That is how we run commercial pest control on Long Island. Whether you need a commercial exterminator in Nassau County for a restaurant row in Mineola or a commercial exterminator in Suffolk County for a warehouse in Ronkonkoma, the program works the same way. Pick your type of business below, or keep reading for how a program works.

Who we serve

How a commercial program works

Every commercial account runs on the same four steps.

  1. Inspection of the whole property. Not just the room where someone saw something. Kitchens, storage, basements, trash areas, loading doors, common areas and the outside of the building. Pests move, so the inspection has to cover where they can go, not only where they were seen.
  2. Targeted treatment. Bait, crack and crevice treatment and rodent stations, placed where activity shows. Treatment goes where the pests live, not across open surfaces where people work and eat.
  3. A visit schedule matched to pest pressure. Weekly while activity is active, every other week as it drops, monthly once it stops. If activity comes back, the schedule goes back up. You are not locked into a frequency that no longer fits.
  4. A written record of every visit. What was inspected, what was found, what was done, and what your staff should fix before the next visit. It goes in your file.

The staff notes are the part that makes the program work. Pest control handles the pests that are there. The business handles the conditions that keep bringing them back: cardboard left in storage, drips under sinks, a back door propped open. When both sides do their part, visits get quieter and the schedule steps down.

Recurring service also changes what an inspection day feels like. When a health inspector, a property manager or a corporate auditor walks through, you are not hoping the last spray held. You have a schedule, a set of stations that get checked, and a stack of visit records that show the work has been steady. That is the difference between reacting to pests and managing them.

Every program starts with a free quote. We look at the property, tell you what we see and recommend a starting schedule. The number on the invoice matches the quote.

The rules your business is held to

Food service in New York is inspected against the state sanitary code. Section 14-1.160 says the premises are to be free of insects, rodents, harborage and breeding conditions, that openings to the outside are to be protected, and that pesticides are not a substitute for proper sanitation. In the city, the health department scores evidence of rats, evidence of mice, live roaches and filth flies as separate violations, and its pest-proofing guidance says every food service establishment must contract with a DEC licensed pest management company. Suffolk County's food protection program runs unannounced inspections and lists major vermin infestation among the conditions that can close an establishment.

For apartment buildings in the city, HPD's indoor allergen rules require owners of buildings with three or more units to keep apartments free of mold and pests, to use integrated pest management, and to have any pesticide applied by a DEC licensed professional.

We pulled the state inspection data: about 1 in 7 Nassau County records cites insects or rodents.

We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice. It is the set of rules we build commercial service plans around, so an inspection is a formality. The sources are listed at the bottom of this page.

Records, license and guarantees

New York takes pesticide records seriously. Under Environmental Conservation Law 33-1205, commercial applicators must log every application, including:

  • The product and its EPA registration number.
  • The amount used.
  • The date and the address.
  • The dosage, the method of application and the target pest.

Those records are kept for at least three years. When a health inspector, a landlord, a board or a corporate office asks what has been done, the business with a copy of every visit record has the answer in its file. We provide that record after every visit.

Service is handled by a NYS DEC Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator, certification C1825832. Treatments carry written guarantees as listed on our services page.

Fast, friendly service. I called in the morning and Will came to my house that evening. Will was great. I would definitely use Bobby's Bugs again and recommend them.

Response was super quick to my inquiry and someone was able to be sent out out quickly. Will came and explained the process, walked me through and showed me what he had done, and reviewed the service order to make sure none of my requests were missed. It was a great experience overall and truck wasn't announcing itself to the neighborhood either which was a plus.

Frequently asked questions

How often should a business get pest control?

It depends on pest pressure. Weekly while there is active activity, every other week as it drops, then monthly once it stops. Restaurants and food businesses usually need more frequent service than offices, which often stay on monthly maintenance.

Do you do one-time commercial jobs?

Yes. But a single treatment rarely keeps a commercial space clean for long. Roach eggs hatch after treatment day and deliveries keep bringing pests in, so recurring service is what keeps a business clean between inspections.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Bobby Bugs is licensed and insured, and service is handled by a NYS DEC Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator, certification C1825832.

Do you give records after each visit?

Yes. You get a written record after every visit. New York already requires commercial applicators to log each application, including the product, EPA registration number, amount, date and address, and to keep those records at least three years.

Do you provide documentation for inspections?

Yes. Every visit is logged on site with what was found, what was applied, where, and at what rate, and monitoring points are mapped in the service plan.

Do you fog kitchens for roaches?

No. Gel bait and growth regulator at the harborages, which is the method that works and the one that does not contaminate food surfaces.
