Does NYC Local Law 55 apply to apartment buildings on Long Island?

Short answer

No. Local Law 55 of 2018 is a New York City law, so it covers buildings in Queens and the Bronx but not in Nassau or Suffolk.

What Local Law 55 requires in the city

Inside New York City, Local Law 55 requires owners of buildings with three or more apartments to inspect each unit and common area every year for indoor allergen hazards such as cockroaches, mice, rats and mold. Owners must use integrated pest management to fix infestations, and any pesticide must be applied by a pest professional licensed by the NYS DEC.

Where that leaves Nassau and Suffolk

Nassau and Suffolk are outside New York City, so Local Law 55 does not apply there. Queens and the Bronx are inside it, so buildings there are covered. Bobby Bugs serves both boroughs as well as all of Long Island.
